London’s First Underground Hotel, Rejected

March 30, 2016 Redazione

Criterion Capital’s plans to convert an underground parking garage into a Japanese style “pod” hotel have been denied. The hotel would have created 24 jobs, but been without windows, a restaurant, and a bar. The 166 room hotel was expected to be put in an area of London with “some of the worst air quality in Europe” and would have had a 3 night maximum. The hotel would have been four and five floors (50ft) below the block and targeted towards budget and business travelers. The local council said the hotel would not be “a zero-star rating… but probably minus five stars.”
